About us :

Adornment Stories is a collective of Black women, femmes, queer and non-binary artists, educators and change makers with in-depth community artist experience who wish to cultivate spaces for others like us to safely tell their stories. Our model focuses on recognizing the unique way gender, race, and intersectional identity impacts mental health. It is through storytelling, facilitation training, and the arts that we provide a platform for those who have often not been heard in Mental Health Dialogues to have space and share their narratives. Our collective mission is to provide safer spaces for Black community members with intersectional identities to discuss the issues that are impacting their mental health, while increasing earning capacity via digital arts and education. As leaders who share intersecting identities with participants, our objective is to develop a sustainable platform that provides each participant with increased skill, network and income to transform their personal stories.
